INTERFAX.RU - The Ministry of Transport has created an autonomous non-profit organization "Directorate of International Transport Corridors" (DITC), through which, together with other departments, intends to make decisions on the development of international transport corridors passing through the territory of Russia.

As stated in the order of Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin on April 10, the Ministry of Transport will appoint the heads of the DITC, oversee its activities and spending. The Directorate must be registered within a month.

The Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Economic Development and other interested federal structures decided to create a DITC within the framework of the federal project "Transport and Logistics Centers", a source close to the Ministry of Economic Development told Interfax. It is assumed that the ANO will become an organizational platform for interaction between federal authorities and business to discuss the development of international transport corridors.

It was planned that the organization would be governed through a supervisory board by several authorities at the managerial level.

“One of the tasks of the DITC is to form a common understanding about the existing possibilities of transport infrastructure and carriers along the routes of the ITC, including the territories of foreign states, the need to create infrastructure facilities (roads and railways, port terminals, checkpoints, agricultural and industrial TLCs), as well as international joint transport enterprises. Such issues are now being discussed within the framework of the intergovernmental Russian-Chinese commission on investment cooperation, intergovernmental commissions with the countries of the North-South corridor and in other international formats, ”the agency's source said.

DITC will also analyze information from the Ministry of Industry and Trade and REC on current and prospective production, market export demand for Russian goods, information on the development of competing routes of international transport corridors bypassing Russia.

“At the first stage, it is planned to carry out this work in relation to 10 routes: EZK, the Trans-Caspian route of the North-South corridor, the western and eastern bypasses of the Caspian Sea in the direction of Iran, India and the countries of Southeast Asia, Primorye-1, Primorye-2 (based on technologies of unmanned traffic ), The Russia-China-Mongolia Economic Corridor, the East-West Railway Corridor, Pan-European Corridors No. 2 and No. 9, ”the agency's source said.
